Our task with the client is question was to gain an overall understanding of the brands present on Amazon. The case required a segregation of the client’s own and competition brand SKUs by price tiers and benefit spaces, including the market share percentage within each (benefit space & price tier) combination.

The client was faced with a situation wherein they couldn’t expand and scale-up. Thoucentric’s BI & Analytics team stepped in to provide the client with the necessary insights and helped in identifying an opportunity worth $3.8mn. With this opportunity, the client’s market share is expected to grow by 16%.

Using Datasets like Amazon bestseller rankings and Offtakes, the team was able to analyse data for the last 2 years of Amazon ASINs for a category. Using the latest machine learning algorithms, classification of SKUs into benefit spaces and price tiers by using their product titles was made easier. In addition to this, we were able to identify white spaces and growth opportunities through fair share opportunities while implementing keyword identification through SKU descriptions to better understand emerging trends.
