There arose a need to improve the efficiency of the planning process while also reducing the planners’ efforts.

The Thoucentric team leveraged its expertise in the deployment of SAP Integrated Business Planning to optimally design and deploy a system that would automate most of the manual tasks and bring in the desired efficiency. The team worked closely with the planners to understand their planning cycle along with the day-to-day challenges faced through the WILOP (Week in the Life of Planner) approach.

The team discussed a multitude of scenarios with a business and incorporated them into the solution. The end-to-end integration with source systems was also designed and established as part of the implementation scope.

To ensure a smooth transition and drive high user adoption, a structured training program was designed for all the end users to make them familiar with the new system. Moreover, the team supported the planners through multiple cycles of planning post implementation to ensure that business was comfortable and able to use the system by themselves daily.

Simplified 2 step planning process powered by SAP IBP, which recommended purchase requisitions based on Master Data inputs and demand plan. Master Data and Transactional data readily available in the planning system through automated integration built in with ERP system. All computations now handled by custom solution along with flexibility for planners to adjust inputs or Purchase Requisition quantity on the fly as well as pass the PRs back into ERP system for Purchase Order creation.
